Prior to Winston Springer, I founded an investment fund modeled after Warren Buffett’s early partnerships. Taking concentrated positions in under-appreciated companies, we worked closely with existing management to unlock value for key stakeholders. Our flagship investment, a somewhat unorthodox renewable energy firm, generated a more than 10x return for our partners along with many of the employees who owned company stock in their business.
Earlier in my career, I worked for Morgan Stanley as well as Washington Trust, America’s oldest community bank.
I am also a musician. I sing and play keys in the nation’s premier Steely Dan tribute band, Hey Nineteen. For the past seven years I have directed the Wheeler School Concert Handbell Ringers, an entrepreneurial gang of young musicians who perform publicly and use their talents to raise money for good causes.
