I come from humble origins. My grandfather moved here from Portugal, lied about his age in order to serve our country in WWII, and worked as a vending machine repair man to support his family. My other grandfather, also a veteran, worked a series of odd jobs as he climbed his way up the chain of command in the Providence (RI) fire department, retiring as Deputy Assistant Chief. My grandmothers raised 9 kids between them with little help and few resources. Regardless, they made it work.
My father graduated first in his class, and advised, then started, and led a handful of companies, ultimately to great success, but with many challenges along the way.
With respect for that hustle culture, I began my business career at Washington Trust and Morgan Stanley, where many of our clients were self-made. My job was to listen to these battle-tested entrepreneurs, to understand what was important to them, to safeguard what they had worked so hard to earn, and to build upon their efforts so that the people and causes they cherished would continue to benefit from their lifelong work.
With the backing and counsel and trust of these partners, I’m excited to follow in their footsteps and build something great.
